Working with your desktop PC is an adventure all in itself. Setting it up is easy. The parts consist of a CPU, monitor, keyboard, and a mouse. You can select from a high tower or choose a small form model, while the tower generally sits on the floor the small form is placed on the desk.

The advantages of a desktop PC are that it can be upgraded much more easily with applications and power over that of a laptop. There are many styles and designs on today's market and they come in large and small sizes.

There are basic computers that are great for simple tasks like Internet browsing, and online shopping. They are used by many who check e-mail or perform offline functions such as working with word documents, or playing built in games.

A PC is a good computer to buy versus a laptop, due to its upgrade potential. The hard drive can be upgraded to provide increased ram, and a host of optical drive options are available. It is best to sit down and take a look at your budget in making your decision.

If your computer is your life and you are a more seasoned user, you probably need and want more power and speed. This is especially true for Gamers. Great choices would be the top five PC's currently on the market. Take a look at the Cyber-power Gamer, Micro Express Micro, Poly-well Poly, The Gateway, and the XI MTower.

These computers all boast the latest technology, and provide superior performance. Another thing that you will want to consider is the processing potential of the PC. If it is only for basic use any processor will suffice. If you are looking for more power in a processor take a look at Intel. Intel's core 2 duo chip is leading the market over AMD.

A PC would be useless, if not for memory. A PC without memory is a severely limited computer. Though you can always update the amount of memory your PC has, it is better to have what you believe you will need, pre-installed at the time of purchase.

Working with your desktop PC is something that you will never tire of. New technology keeps applications exciting and informative. There are many things you can do with your computer and many sites on the web to see.
